Ananuri: Behind the beautiful picture lies a whole drama!

You’ve probably seen photos of the picturesque Zhinvali Reservoir with a church and fortress wall in the background. That’s Ananuri. No doubt about it, it’s a sight to behold. But most people take a couple of photos and move on. And that’s a shame!
Behind those walls, serious passions were raging! In the 17th century, princes fought for power, plotted intrigues, and staged battles there… Every tower, every stone is a witness to those times. When the wind whistles through the battlements, it seems as if the shadow of some ancient warrior is about to emerge from around the corner.
They say that the untold riches of the Eristavi clan are buried here. Of course, no one has found the treasure yet, but the very idea that you are wandering around a place where treasures once may have been is intriguing.
Khertvisi: Guardian of two rivers with a thousand years of history

Rukhi Fortress: An Unfinished Song in Stone
The renowned Georgian historian Vakhushti Bagrationi confirmed that it was Levan Dadiani who initiated the construction of the Rukhi Fortress in 1647.
