Vietnam is once again gaining popularity among Russian tourists – largely thanks to the resumption of direct flights. Nha Trang remains one of the most sought-after resorts: warm seas, long beaches and well-developed infrastructure.
But there is an important caveat: the weather varies quite significantly throughout the year, and literally everything depends on the month — from sea conditions to tour prices. Let’s take a look at the best times to visit Nha Trang and what to expect in different months.

Weather in Nha Trang by month
March – April
The weather is as comfortable as it gets: around 28–30°C during the day, 25–26°C in the sea, almost no rain, and calm waters.
It’s not yet too hot, and the humidity is easy to bear, so your holiday will be as comfortable as possible. An added bonus is that boat trips and fishing are popular during this period, as the conditions are practically ideal.
May
The weather becomes noticeably more oppressive. Temperatures can rise to 35–40°C, humidity increases, and this feels much more intense than just the heat. Even at night, it stays around 28°C, and this isn’t to everyone’s liking. If you don’t cope well with the muggy heat, it’s best to give this month a miss.

June – July – August
Summer in Nha Trang is another excellent choice for a holiday. Temperatures hover around 33–34°C, and the sea is very warm, reaching up to 29°C. There is some rainfall, but it is brief and rarely spoils your holiday.
A special feature of this period is the excellent conditions for diving. The water is crystal clear, with good visibility. By the end of August, the weather gradually begins to change, but thanks to the resort’s location, severe weather conditions are felt less here than in other regions.
September
The start of autumn is a transitional period. Days remain hot — around +32…+33 degrees, and the sea is warm, up to +29…+30 degrees. At the same time, rain begins to appear, but it is usually brief.
A significant advantage is the drop in tour prices. This is the time when you can snap up a bargain and still enjoy relatively calm seas.
October – November
This is the full-blown rainy season. Temperatures remain comfortable: around 30°C during the day, with the water at about 27–28°C. However, your holiday is complicated by another factor – prolonged rainfall and strong waves.
Sometimes it can rain for several days in a row, and the sea is almost constantly stormy. This is not the best time for a classic beach holiday. On the other hand, this is precisely when hotel prices are at their lowest. Many people come here for a peaceful break, spa treatments and excursions.
December–January
The weather remains largely unchanged. Rain continues, there are few sunny days, and the sea is often rough. Air temperatures hover around 26–28 degrees.
It’s not the best option for a beach holiday, but for those who want a change of scenery in winter without breaking the bank, it’s perfectly acceptable.
February
A turning point begins in the middle of the month. The rain gradually dies down, there is more sunshine, and the sea becomes calmer. Air temperatures are around +26…+28 at the start of the month and rise towards the end. This is when the high season begins.
